Digital Integrated Amplifier and Master Clock Generator (+/- 1 ppm) Esoteric Model AZ-1
Main features:
The same elegant design concept as the SZ-1/UZ-1. Elegant but simple 77 mm high chassis design to match the AZ-1 and UZ-1. High efficiency digital power integrated amp. and master clock for improved sound quality.
The AZ-1 features high precision D/A conversion technology and master clock processing technology that has evolved from ESOTERIC’S flagship models P-01/D-01 and P-03/D-03. Using these technologies, the AZ-1 offers high-speed demand response and very natural sound with extremely high resolution and exceptional sonic presence. The AZ-1 features a high efficiency WB transformer for its power component, providing very low current loss and excellent instantaneous current power, as needed on demand. As a Class “D” amplifier, the AZ-1 allows for lower power output to provide very efficient system operation.
WORD SYNC OUT terminal
The AZ-1 is equipped with a WORD SYNC output terminal to synchronize its operation with other components such as the SZ-1 or UZ-1. This output provides a stable clock signal “in sync” with each component to which it is connected, as opposed to having independent clocks controlling each device.
Word synchronization greatly contributes to improved sound quality, reducing the “jitter,” effect produced in the process of digital signal transmission. The internal clock of the AZ-1 is accurate to +/- 1 part per million (+/- 1 ppm).
iLink terminal (AUDIO S400)
The AZ-1 can connect to the Esoteric SZ-1 and UZ-1 and other digital components equipped with iLink terminals by connecting them with just a single iLink cable. Multi-channel digital audio information is also exchangeable through this interface.
