Refining existing and proven speaker
technologies, as well as introducing new materials and innovations, the Avant
900i series comprises a wide range of loudspeakers designed for stereo two-channel
and multi-channel home cinema applications.
These advanced loudspeakers house a raft of third generation technologies.
Revised drivers have been re-voiced to deliver improved high frequency response,
as well as greater clarity and detail from the midrange bass.
For the most acoustically deadened enclosure possible, the cabinets have been
remodelled with heavily revised internal bracing to strengthen the already sturdy
cabinet assembly. A new terminal panel offering easier connection of speaker
cables and new bullet terminals - directly descended from our flagship Performance
speakers - also feature across this new series.
Despite its compact size, the
Avant 902i standmount offers a highly impressive performance with a wonderfully
large soundstage.
The 902i is a rear-ported, two-way bookshelf model which combines
mid range resolution and treble clarity with tight, fast low frequency performance.

Established in 1967, Mordaunt
Short is responsible for the development of some of the world’s most critically
acclaimed loudspeakers.
From the beginning, Mordaunt Short has produced loudspeakers
of the very highest order which is underlined by that fact that our first ever
range enjoyed exclusive distribution through Harrods of Knightsbridge, London.
The very essence of Mordaunt Short can be found in each and
every speaker they create. Whilst Mordaunt Short is proud of their heritage
and the fact that there one of the few remaining British owned and engineered
speaker brands, they never rest on tradition. Instead, Mordaunt Short is always
in search of new technologies to take you as close as possible to the music
you love.
An incredibly forward-thinking company, Mordaunt Short produces
some of the most technologically advanced loudspeakers available today. All
Mordaunt Short products are a testament to this innovative spirit and style
but it is most apparent in models such as Genie and Performance. Their expertise
allows them to constantly challenge the status quo – does a speaker really
have to be made from wood? Why does it have to be rectangular?
But the most important resource they have, are the people who
work for them. With a dedicated team of ten engineers and a purpose-built research
and development centre in London, Mordaunt Short has some of the best resources
in the industry.
With an engineering pedigree second-to-none, you won’t
be surprised to hear that Mordaunt Short designs each and every component in
their products to their own specifications.
After a lengthy development programme, all Mordaunt Short products
are put before the ultimate test – the human ear. And not just any ear
will do. Before you get to listen to Mordaunt Short speakers, Mordaunt Short’s
head of acoustic engineering signs off each and every design.
Since its foundation, Mordaunt Short has produced legendary
designs including the Festival, Carnival and Pageant models of the early-Seventies
which was followed by the Pearl Edition range of the late-Nineties right through
to today’s Performance and Genie ranges. Every one of these models was
conceived from one continuing vision - to build the best loudspeaker money can
buy, combining engineering excellence, an enthusiasm for innovation and carefully
controlled manufacturing processes.
