Unlike ordinary surge protectors that rely entirely on metal oxide varistors—MOVs—for surge protection, ultra-fast T2 microprocessor-controlled circuitry automatically disconnects the PowerCenter and your connected components. When T2 senses a voltage swell coming, it completely disconnects power for 15-seconds. T2 also protects from severe under-voltage sags that can also damage your AV equipment. Monster Tri-Mode™ disconnect circuitry also keeps you informed of your system's status with visual indicator lights and an audible alarm.
The HDP 2400’s high 6125-Joule power absorption rating also applies to surges that can occur on Telephone, Ethernet, Cable TV, Satellite, and Antenna feeds, for complete and total system protection.
