Even the most advanced, high performance stereo and home theatre systems are not
immune to the digital phenomenon known as jitter. Jitter is a time domain error
in the digital signal as its being transferred from your component's transport
to the internal (or outboard) DAC. This clock timing error can be substantial
enough to produce audible imperfections: phase distortion, increased noise
floor, decreased bandwidth, and loss of clarity.
An ordinary fiber optic cable can actually increase jitter. As the digital
signal travels down the cable's lightpath, the cable's low grade fiber limits
the amount of light that can be transferred, while the imprecise, machined
termination often cause internal light reflections and thus, more jitter.

the standard for high performance fiber optic interconnects. Unlike ordinary and
many so-called "high performance" digital cables, MLS1000 is specially
designed to reduce jitter. The fiber on each end is repeatedly polished by hand
to within a fraction of a lightwave. This enables a precision fiber termination
for absolute minimum light reflections and a significant reduction in jitter.
The absence of jitter lowers the noise floor considerably, so your high-end
system will reproduce digital music and movie sound with pin point accuracy and
exceptional clarity. Unlike the generic low quality fiber most cables use,
MLS1000 features premium grade index fiber for optimum optical clarity. The
signal is transferred with pinpoint accuracy and wider bandwidth, for more

virtually every other fiber optic cable on the market that's either terminated
by machine, or by blade, the optical fiber at each end of MLS1000 is hand
polished and hand terminated. This is a costly and labor-intensive process. We
feel it is warranted, though, because it greatly reduces cable-induced jitter
while lowering the noise floor substantially. The digital signal can travel
smoothly down the light pipe, unimpeded. MLS1000's rugged Duraflex®
jacket protects the delicate internal fiber, and is ultra-flexible for easy
routing and installation.

Ordinary fiber optic connectors provide a loose, flimsy connection. Often, the
connector doesn't mate perfectly between the cable's optical lens and the fiber.
