Cambridge Audio LK10 Incognito Series Learning Keypad
Building on the huge success of the world’s most affordable multi-room system, Cambridge Audio launches the Incognito LK10 learning keypad greatly expanding the Incognito’s functionality. The LK10 simply connects to a KP10 amplified keypad and when used with the LR10 learning remote control can learn the IR codes from any manufacturers’ remote control so that hard disk music servers, MP3 players, CD players, DVD players, tuners and other sources can all be controlled conveniently from the wall. The keypad also features clock, alarm and sleep timer functions and an LCD screen which displays time, date and source by name. The LK10 is incredibly easy to install and fits neatly next to the Cambridge Audio KP10 plugging in directly meaning there are no additional cables to be fed to the main hub.
The Cambridge Audio LK10 learning keypad is a welcome addition to the Incognito range of multi-room products and offers enormous functionality to the whole system. Via a ‘cloning’ procedure with the LR10 learning remote, the LK10 keypad learns its IR codes and /or macros so that it can fully control any source equipment. For example, each button on a DVD player is assigned a corresponding button on the keypad which can then govern ‘next chapter’, ‘play’ and ‘pause’ etc. Individual sources are displayed by name as well as indicating if they are being currently used (shared) by other Incognito users in other rooms. The LK10 removes the need for carrying a remote control around the home. When plugged into the LM10, Local Input Module, MP3 players and iPods can also be controlled by
the keypad.
An alarm function means the keypad can be programmed to switch onto a pre-selected source at a specific time. The same is true of the sleep mode which turns off the zone or sub-zone it is located in.
The unit itself is extremely easy to install sitting as it does adjacent to a KP10 keypad. The LK10 plugs directly into the existing keypad meaning there is no need for additional cables to the hub further reducing clutter.
Cambridge Audio Incognito is an A-BUS™ standard multi-room entertainment system which distributes media throughout the home from a compact central hub. This could, for example, be situated behind your current home entertainment system. The main audio hub has inputs for six source components – far greater than any competitor in this sector. Incognito is also the only affordable A-BUS compliant system to give you the option of installing a video hub as well.
Standard Cat5 cable is laid throughout your home carrying audio to up to four zones and four subzones in a standard package. Hubs can be chained for up to 16 main zones plus 16 sub-zones if required. Incognito also offers an A-BUS compliant active ceiling speaker. This has a built-in, wide angle, infra red receiver which removes the need for in-wall keypads, dramatically increasing flexibility and ease of installation in circumstances where the walls are solid or difficult to run cables in.
Multi-room entertainment systems are set to become as standard in quality homes as granite work tops in a kitchen. Incognito is an essential component of the modern home allowing people to enjoy their favourite music and movies in every room and all from a central location.
