From the beginning, Mordaunt Short has produced loudspeakers
of the very highest order which is underlined by that fact that our first ever
range enjoyed exclusive distribution through Harrods of Knightsbridge, London.
The very essence of Mordaunt Short can be found in each and
every speaker they create. Whilst Mordaunt Short is proud of their heritage
and the fact that there one of the few remaining British owned and engineered
speaker brands, they never rest on tradition. Instead, Mordaunt Short is always
in search of new technologies to take you as close as possible to the music
you love.
An incredibly forward-thinking company, Mordaunt Short produces
some of the most technologically advanced loudspeakers available today. All
Mordaunt Short products are a testament to this innovative spirit and style
but it is most apparent in models such as Genie and Performance. Their expertise
allows them to constantly challenge the status quo – does a speaker really
have to be made from wood? Why does it have to be rectangular?

work for them. With a dedicated team of ten engineers and a purpose-built research
and development centre in London, Mordaunt Short has some of the best resources

After a lengthy development programme, all Mordaunt Short products
are put before the ultimate test – the human ear. And not just any ear

head of acoustic engineering signs off each and every design.
Since its foundation, Mordaunt Short has produced legendary
designs including the Festival, Carnival and Pageant models of the early-Seventies
which was followed by the Pearl Edition range of the late-Nineties right through
to today’s Performance and Genie ranges. Every one of these models was
conceived from one continuing vision - to build the best loudspeaker money can
buy, combining engineering excellence, an enthusiasm for innovation and carefully
controlled manufacturing processes.
