In 1999 E-commerce was emerging into the main stream with an ever-crowded market of funny names that didn’t seem to relate in any way to their respective products or services. Remember 800.com? We thought they were in the toll-free telephone service business, not an electronics reseller. Examples like this one inspired us to think of a name that related well, was fun, easily remembered and most of all one which people actually thought they had heard before.
Earlier that same year, the extremely popular movie “Wild Wild West”, starring Will Smith, was a hit among moviegoers, and the term “Wild Wild West” has been cemented in our popular culture ever since. It didn’t take long for us to realize that marrying “Wild West” with our passion for “Electronics” would result in people subconsciously thinking that they had heard of our company on a national level. About three months after the film’s release at the end of the summer of 1999, Wild West Electronics® was born as a family-owned business in the Phoenix, AZ metro area. Then, and even to this day, people subconsciously want us to be “Wild Wild West Electronics”!

In those early days, just about everyone in Ecommerce was new and just starting out. The perception of being a nationally recognized brand played a valuable role in our early achievements, but our relentless focus on providing our customers with quality products and unmatched service has been the basis of our ongoing success. Today, although we we’ve grown exponentially in product offerings, we are still the family-owned business that began in 1999… and providing our customers with quality products and superior customer service continues to be the heart of our business philosophy and the backbone of our ongoing success.

In the fall of 2005, our company moved to the more centrally located Oklahoma City metro area, which has allowed us to even better serve our national client base.
